Bacharach offers a poignant new version of his classic "Alfie" (gorgeously sung by Peabo Bryson), as well as new material – notably a new collaboration with Wilson ("What Love Can Do"), who also recreates the Beach Boys gem "God Only Knows." King delivers a moving rendition of a new song "Say Goodbye Today" and teams with Suzan Agbor on a new soulful version of her timeless gem "Home Again." Kristofferson performs a poignant and reflective version of his classic, "Sunday Morning Coming Down", as well as the beautiful new ballad, "The Wonder." Williams, who duets with Willie Nelson on the heartwarming favorite "The Rainbow Connection," penned the album's title track "New Music from an Old Friend" sung by vocal virtuoso Jane Monheit. Stephen Bishop teams up with Eric Clapton and Brazilian guitar icon Oscar Castro-Neves on an exciting samba version of his hit "Save It for a Rainy Day."
